About Me

Allow me to introduce myself!

My name is Thomas (Teej) Barnsley. I’m a physiotherapist at a sports based private practice called KCP Physiotherapy on the Kapiti Coast in New Zealand.

I graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelors degree endorsed with Distinction in 2016. I am currently completing postgraduate study through the University of Otago with the goal of obtaining a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy by the end of 2021.

Outside of normal clinic work, I work with the Horowhenua-Kapiti Heartland Rugby Team as the physiotherapist, and have completed:

  • Level 2 Immediate Care in Rugby
  • Certificate in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy (COMT) through the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapy Association (NZMPA)
  • Foundation Dry Needling Certificate

All pretty standard stuff.

There are plenty of young physiotherapists just like me, so why would I look to start something like this?

The answer lies in why most people would go and see a physiotherapist in the first place. Like you, I have had injuries too. But in my case, I’ve had a shit tonne of them.

  • Turf toe
  • Plantarfascia tear
  • Medial and lateral ankle high grade/syndesmosis injuries
  • MCL tear
  • Calf tear
  • Patellofemoral Joint Syndrome
  • Rectus Femoris tear
  • Adductor Longus Tendinopathy
  • Hamstring tears
  • Pec Major complete tear (requiring surgery)
  • Pancreas Rupture (requiring surgery)
  • Dislocated fingers
  • Subluxed Shoulder – and multiple rotator cuff sprains
  • Broken Hand, Ankle and Jaw
  • LisFranc fracture (requiring surgery)
  • And one that I can’t be proud of, a few concussions along the way as well

I’ll be bringing you content not just with the knowledge gained through my studies and working experience, but also from the perspective of someone who has been exactly where you are. Injured, and unable to perform the way I (and you) want to.

I truly hope that you enjoy my content. I can also be found

Thanks for checking out my page,

Lets rehab and train together!
